Rachael Doland

Rachael Doland brings over 25 years of diverse legal experience, combining her work as both a solicitor and barrister in Sydney with a deep commitment to serving clients in the Coffs Harbour region. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts from the Australian National University and was admitted as a solicitor in 1999, later practising as a barrister at Sixth Floor Selborne Chambers in Sydney from 2006 to 2010. Rachael further enhanced her expertise by completing a Graduate Diploma of Applied Law and is currently pursuing a Masters in Applied Law with a focus on Wills and Estate Planning. Since joining Lee Sames Egan in 2010, Rachael has specialised in property law and conveyancing, as well as Wills, probate, and estate administration. She is dedicated to assisting clients in safeguarding their assets and intentions by providing comprehensive estate planning advice and documentation. This includes drafting Wills—ranging from straightforward to complex—preparing enduring powers of attorney, and formalising appointments of enduring guardians. Rachael collaborates closely with clients and their accountants to ensure clarity around their financial structures, asset distribution upon death, and the handling of superannuation death benefits. Rachael is also experienced in advising on the administration of deceased estates. She supports Executors in fulfilling their responsibilities with compassion and clarity during often challenging times, helping them navigate the probate process through the Supreme Court, manage the sale and transfer of estate assets, and distribute inheritances to beneficiaries. Before relocating to Coffs Harbour, Rachael amassed valuable experience as a Senior Associate at Ashurst (formerly Blake Dawson), where she worked in Competition and Consumer Protection Law. Returning to her hometown area was motivated by her desire to provide her children with a happy upbringing and to contribute her extensive legal expertise to local individuals and businesses. Rachael's ongoing commitment to professional development is evidenced by her high distinctions in courses such as Construing and Drafting Wills and Fundamentals of Estate Planning, reflecting her thorough and meticulous approach to her practice.
