Richard Callaghan

Richard Callaghan is a Director at Kelly Legal and leads the firm’s Personal Litigation Department, which includes family law and compensation claim services. With over 30 years of experience in private practice and prior work within the Magistrates Court across Queensland, Richard brings a wealth of knowledge to his clients. He advises on a comprehensive range of family law matters, including property settlements, child arrangements, divorce, de facto relationships, and financial agreements. Since 1991, Richard has held accreditation in family law at the Mackay office. He is committed to helping clients reach fair and timely resolutions, offering an approachable and empathetic manner that addresses client concerns with reassurance. Having lived and worked in Babinda, Mackay, Brisbane, Barcaldine, and Cairns, Richard has called Mackay home since 1970. He is an active member of the Mackay District Law Association and the Australian Family Law Association. Outside of work, Richard enjoys reading, social golf, spending time with family, and staying active.
