David Farrar

David Farrar is the founding solicitor director of Farrar Lawyers, admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales since 1999 with experience appearing in all Federal courts. His extensive commercial law background encompasses advising insurers on professional indemnity and directors’ and officers’ liability claims, as well as representing insolvency practitioners across various corporate and personal administrations. Before establishing Farrar Lawyers, David held senior associate roles at leading Australian law firms and led the Insolvency and Reconstruction Divisions as a partner at boutique Sydney practices. He regularly acts for trustees in bankruptcy, registered liquidators, financiers, multinational corporations, debtors, bankrupts, and company directors, providing comprehensive advice informed by multiple perspectives within insolvency and reconstruction. David often undertakes his own advocacy, conducting public examinations of directors and other relevant parties in both the Supreme and Federal Courts. He is a full member of the New South Wales Law Society and Insolvency Practitioners Australia. He holds a Master of Laws from Sydney University and a Diploma in Advanced Insolvency Law and Practice II from the University of Southern Queensland.
